Spring Surgery

March 23, 2019

Spring is finally here and if you’ve been considering knee surgery, studies show that this is the best time of year to do it!

Many people have a lot to consider when researching the ideal time to schedule their knee replacement or restoration surgery. Some of those factors are:Spring Surgery

  • Preferred surgeon availability
  • Access to time off from work
  • Best time of year for rehabilitation
  • Caregiver availability and so on

Why Spring?

This is in part due to the weather and being able to wear lighter clothing, which makes movement easier and getting in and out of clothing less daunting. Research also shows that chances of medication errors, hospital born infections and other preventable issues are lower during this time of year.

For the older generations, it may feel like it takes longer to loosen up and get going in cold weather. When the weather is warm inside and outside, it is easier to engage in outdoor activity as well as getting to and from physical therapy.

What makes us different?

Well, the good news is that with all Arthrosurface implant systems, recovery time is shorter than traditional total joint replacements so you can get back to your life and back to your daily routine much quicker, regardless of the time of year! So whether you are scheduling  surgery for next spring or in the middle of winter, you can be assured that you’ll be back and better than ever with our joint restoration implants!
