Steven J. Tallarida - President
Steve brings to Arthrosurface® a broad expertise in bringing
new medical products to market with 17 years of experience manufacturing
devices for the medical products industry. Steve has been President of STD Med
for over 14 years, during which time Steve transformed STD from a
defense manufacturing company to an ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certified,
medical device design and manufacturing company. Steve is also a founder
of AngioLink Corporation; a medical device start-up focused on the
markets of interventional cardiology and wound management that was
recently acquired by Medtronic. Additionally he was founder of Spirus Medical which was recently acquired by Olympus. He also serves as President of CardioSolutions .
Steven W. Ek - Executive Vice President and COO
Steve is one of the founders of Arthrosurface, and became the first
employee of the company in 2002, after serving as the vice president of
engineering at STD Med. Steve has over 18 years experience in the
commercialization of orthopedic devices and implants, with a focus on
the design, manufacture and clinical/ regulatory elements of new product
development. Prior to STDMed, Steve was director of research and
development for Smith & Nephew Endoscopy, a major medical device
company. Steve started his medical products career as a design engineer
at Linvatec, a high growth arthroscopy and sports medicine company
Lester Fehr - Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Lester has over 22 years experience in the medical industry. Prior to
joining Arthrosurface, he was a Director of International Business with
Smith & Nephew Endoscopy. Lester is multilingual with management and
strategic planning expertise in all the major global device markets and
strong surgeon relationships in arthroscopy and orthopaedics. Prior to
Smith & Nephew, Lester was an orthopedic distributor representing
products from the US and Europe.
Anthony C. Moretti - Vice President, Finance and Administration
Anthony is a Certified Public Accountant. He has spent his career
largely in the field of corporate finance, particularly in the areas of
industrial and medical manufacturing. Recently, he served as a Division
Controller and Director of Internal Audit for one of the divisions of
Cookson Group PLC. Prior to Cookson, Anthony worked in the finance and
accounting department at Davol, Inc, a subsidiary of C. R. Bard, Inc.,
and the Gorham Division of Textron, Inc. Anthony began his career with
the accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP.
Gregory Butterfield - Vice President, Manufacturing & Customer Care
Greg has over 27 years of experience in the field of total Supply Chain
Management gained through his work at high volume, world class companies
in the medical, military and commercial fields. Prior to joining
Arthrosurface, Greg held Senior level and management positions at
Honeywell, Texas Instruments, and Davol, a medical supplier and
subsidiary of C. R. Bard, Inc. His educational background includes a
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Massachusetts, and a
MBA and Supply Chain Management certificate.
Michael Nordling - Director of Product and Clinical Marketing
Mike has over 17 years experience in the medical industry. Prior to
joining Arthrosurface, he was Marketing Manager for Smith & Nephew
Endoscopy, a global leader in arthroscopy. Mike has developed strong
relationships with key global surgeons and has led many significant
medical device introductions into the knee and shoulder markets. Prior
to Smith & Nephew, Mike has worked in the surgical environment of
the operating room and as a sales representative for Biomet Orthopedics.
Matthias R. Schurhoff, MD - VP, Clinical Operations and Scientific Affairs
Matthias has over 10 years of experience in musculoskeletal research and
education. Prior to joining Arthrosurface, he served as Director of
Research at UHZ Sports Medicine Institute – University of Miami. He has
published numerous scientific articles in the peer-reviewed literature
on subjects of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. He has extensive
experience in development, conduct and dissemination of funded and
original research projects as well as in the management of FDA clinical
trials. He has earned his medical degree at the Ludwig-Maximilians
University in Munich, Germany.
Dawn J. Wilson – Vice President, Quality & Regulatory
Dawn brings over 17 years experience in the medical device industry
across a multitude of disciplines including Manufacturing Engineering
& Product Development, Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance and
Quality Control. She began and spent a large part of her career at US
Surgical Corporation and was most recently employed as Director, QA/QC
for TissueLink Medical. Dawn’s educational background includes a B.S.
in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University and a MS in Engineering
Management from the University of Bridgeport. Dawn holds the following
ASQ quality certifications: Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Engineer,
Quality Manager and Quality Auditor.
